Ashley arrived in Great Falls July 11, and we went over to the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center to help the Corps of Discovery portage the dugout canoes around the 18 mile stretch of waterfalls on the river. Ashley's strong muscles required only a light touch, and my pulling on the rope hardly made a speck of difference.

  1. Patricia, I am enjoying your travels with great gusto! Thanks for having this adventure for many others who are "joining" in your journey. Although I traveled some of this area many years ago, it was with three small children, so I recall very little -- except for the Nez Perce Historical Park, where the entire family had their feet traced so a lovely 80+ y.o. Native American woman named Delia Davis could make moccasins for each of us; she kindly mailed them to us upon our return home to California. Keep on havin' TOO MUCH FUN!!!

  4. I don't know, Patricia ... Looks like you managed to get that canoe into the Interpretive Center! Should count for something, I would think.
